Exquisite antique peignoir of silk and Valenciennes lace. Made circa the Belle Epoque era. Wonderful portrait collar, puffed sleeves and wide ruffled hem. Saque back with a little train at the hem. Ruffled Valenciennes lace trims the collar, cuffs and hem. Unlined, no closures. The peignoir is painstakingly constructed of strips of silk and handmade bobbin lace. Many hours of expert work went in to the construction of this beauty.  A dreamy textile treasure.

This exquisite antique peignoir is in good condition. There is age appropriate wear including several mends at the seams and to the lace. A little wear to the silk at the underarms and hem, has been stabilized on the inside with antique silk of the same weight and color. Light soiling and wear to the hem. Presents beautifully and is sturdy enough to be worn with the care a 100 year old garment deserves. Freshly cleaned and ready to wear.
